NewControl – Autonomous Vehicle Subsystems
NewControl is a European research project focused on the design of virtualised subsystems that enable autonomous driving. It develops safety-by-design modules for perception, cognitive decision-making, and fail-operational control, paving the way for scalable and reliable mobility-as-a-service platforms.
- Builds virtual sensors and control modules for automated vehicles.
- Implements real-time planning and monitoring capabilities using AI.
- Ensures system integrity under failure through redundancy and validation strategies.
KR-UC3M's role: The group contributes to model-based assurance of the control architecture, traceable documentation of safety artefacts, and integration of verification methods into the development pipeline. It focuses on reuse and automation of evidence generation for certification processes.
Project funding: ECSEL Joint Undertaking under Horizon 2020. Coordinated by Infineon Technologies AG.
