H2020 - Arrowhead Tools for Engineering of Digitalisation Solutions
From everyday uses to large-scale industry applications, the Internet of Things (IoT) is expanding at an accelerating speed. The EU-funded Arrowhead Tools project will create advanced new digitisation and automation tools for the European engineering industry. These tools will bridge the gap that currently prevents total integration of operational technology – for example how efficiently the engineering industry is leveraging IoT and the ‘system of systems’ into its products. The project is expected to reduce the costs of developing and introducing flexible and secure digitisation and automation solutions by about 20 to 50 %. This will make Europe more competitive and create new jobs and business opportunities, while also reducing energy consumption and the environmental footprint.

H2020 - NewControl
NewControl develops virtualized subsystems essential for autonomous driving—covering perception, cognitive planning, and fail-operational control—based on a safety-by-design paradigm. The goal is to advance mobility-as-a-service through robust, scalable, and reliable automated vehicle technologies.

H2020 - Intelligent RELIABILITY 4.0
The H2020-funded Intelligent Reliability 4.0 (Irel40) project aims to strengthen the electronics industry in Europe by developing and integrating innovative technologies for zero-defect manufacturing. Irel40 focuses on improving reliability and performance across the entire value chain, including sensors, embedded systems, and packaging. Through close collaboration between industrial and academic partners, the project targets reducing failure rates, increasing production yield, and improving energy efficiency in electronic components manufacturing. Irel40 also supports standardisation and data-driven approaches to accelerate Industry 4.0 adoption. The outcomes are expected to enhance European competitiveness, digital sovereignty, and sustainability in critical sectors.

H2020 - AMASS
AMASS developed a European-wide open platform to support the assurance and certification of cyber-physical systems. It focused on reusability, tool interoperability, and reducing the cost and complexity of certification across critical sectors.

LOTAR
LOTAR focuses on standardized, tool-independent methods for the long-term archiving and retrieval of model-based engineering data. UC3M contributes to ensuring the preservation, interoperability, and reuse of digital systems models in critical sectors like aerospace and defense.

MoMEBIA
MoMEBIA (Monitoring of the Electricity Market using Artificial Intelligence) focuses on predictive modelling and analysis of energy market data to enable proactive detection of inefficiencies, anomalies, and pricing patterns. The project combines AI-driven analytics and advanced energy systems expertise to improve decision-making processes in smart grids.

IVERES Proyect
IVERES (“Identification, Verification and Response”) is an AI-driven platform developed collaboratively by UC3M and partners (RTVE, UAB, UPC, UGR) to combat fake news. It integrates deterministic methods and deep learning to classify social media content, detect bots, deepfakes, and assess virality. The system supports fact-checkers at RTVE’s Verifica, enhancing transparency and speeding up verification processes. It has been nationally recognized and recently awarded the Spanish Computer Science Award 2024.
